On 16 July 2025, the military media for the National Resistance Forces (NRF) under the command of Tariq Saleh, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the highest executive body of the internationally recognized government of Yemen, aired a documentary that showcased the interception of a sambuk (wooden vessel) on 27 June 2025, three days after the ceasefire between Iran and Israel in the Southern Red Sea. The vessel was sailing from Djibouti Port heading to the Houthi-controlled Port of As Saleef. The full and intact missiles seized by the NRF will be of high interest to Western analysts seeking to reverse-engineer the system, trace foreign-made parts, and identify potential vulnerabilities.
